As such, plenty of people could be forgiven for thinking tabletop RPGs are nothing more than many different fantasy games. However, they're as diverse as any other medium. There are TTRPGs to fit almost any taste. For example, science fiction, horror, and a great many other genres are well-represented and have excellent fan-favorite RPGs under their umbrellas.
World of Darkness is the best-known horror RPG, particularly in its Vampire: The Masquerade gameline. More than just gothic tragedy, however, it offers plenty of variety for any sort of horror. Between its two iterations – World of Darkness and Chronicles of Darkness – players can tell all sorts of horror stories.
Whether they're werewolves fighting to protect the Earth, demons in a techno-espionage setting, or the victims of Fey kidnapping, players have plenty to choose from. World of Darkness' rules aren't particularly acclaimed, but it has beloved settings and storytelling that are well worth the price of admission.
