Korean director Bong Joon-Ho said, “Once you overcome the one-inch-tall barrier of subtitles you will be introduced to so many more amazing films” and the same can be said about television. Some of the greatest shows available might require viewers to do a little reading, but they are totally worth it.
The Korean drama series Squid Game took the world by storm. The show follows 456 individuals on the brink of financial ruin as they compete to the death in children’s games. The series was praised for its gripping storylines, tragic character arcs, and themes of desperation and the impact of capitalism.
There’s very little to say that hasn’t already been said about Squid Game. The show became a global phenomenon by word-of-mouth. Fans shouldn't disservice the actors' incredible performances by watching the dubbed versions, they should watch it how it was intended. Squid Game is most certainly worth it.
