Cyberpunk 2077 is no stranger to sex, nudity and grisly violence in Night City. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, however, takes all three to a whole new level.

Cyberpunk 2077 is no stranger to sex, nudity and grisly violence throughout the gameplay. While navigating various locations throughout Night City, the main character V has sexual encounters with various companions during missions. Though the depiction of sex is presented in the first-person point-of-view -- complete with suggestive poses, graphic nudity and moaning -- the strategic camera angles also keep the sex scenes from looking pornographic. The same is true of the depiction of violence. While blood splatters accompany gunshots, they're also subtle enough to not traumatize the viewer.

Though Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is an anime based on the Cyberpunk 2077 game, the NSFW trailer from Netflix makes it clear that all subtlety is out the window. Not only does the anime’s depiction of sex, nudity and violence appear to be extremely explicit and over-the-top compared to the original gameplay, but the trailer promises an even wilder storyline with an emphasis on character deaths as the main selling point. This appears to be a stark contrast to the video game, where V is fighting to save their own life after a botched heist forces them to insert the Relic of a dead man they stole into their own neural network.

To ensure fans are aware they are experiencing the world of Cyberpunk, the NSFW trailer includes graphic depictions of sex and nudity that far exceed what's experienced in the game. The very first sex scene in the trailer is a fourgy, in which three women are pleasuring a man with the same first-person point-of-view as the video game. The second is more subtle but is still presented in the first person.

Another major difference between the Edgerunners anime and the Cyberpunk 2077 video game is how the women's bodies are presented. Whereas the game depicts both male and female bodies with realistic proportions, the anime depicts the women's bodies with exaggerated proportions similar to hentai. At one point, ejaculation is depicted in the trailer, which is not seen in the video game. While none of the Netflix trailers offer much of a hint of the actual storyline, it does seemingly promise a wilder ride than viewers might expect from the Cyberpunk franchise.
