Streamer Metro shared a leak suggesting Overwatch 2 may not launch until 2023 or beyond due to several major development delays at Blizzard.

A new leak suggests the long-awaited Overwatch 2 may not launch by 2022 after all. With the game's development reportedly taking "longer than expected," the sequel to Blizzard Entertainment's 2016 shooter may not be ready for release until 2023 or beyond.

Prominent Overwatch streamer Metro posted the leaked update on Twitter. According to sources close to the development of Overwatch 2, the game's progress has taken more time than originally anticipated. A 2022 release now seems unlikely. While the announcement is far from official, the studio has yet to present a release window for the sequel, which was first announced in 2019.
