The royal family of the United Kingdom has inspired several television series and movies. Movies like The King's Speech and The Queen and series like The Crown and The Story of Diana dig deep into the workings and emotions of the royal family. Netflix's The Crown is a beloved show that does not hold back in appreciation and criticism of the family. It has a stellar cast, picturesque scenes and some of the best writing on television, particularly lines delivered by the Queen Elizabeth character herself.
While Elizabeth has tumultuous relations with many of the prime ministers throughout the drama of The Crown, she develops a deep admiration for Winston Churchill. Elizabeth gives him a lot of praise and honor, even going to a dinner at Downing Street, which was unusual at the time.
However, it was during her very last interaction with Winston that her true feelings for him became most apparent. Elizabeth visits Winston as he nears the end of his life and expresses her deep respect and admiration for her friend in their final words.
