As criminals and costumed crime fighters clash, one thing becomes increasingly apparent about them: they're incredibly well-dressed. Flashy red outfits, subdued plainclothes combos, and even animal-themed bodysuits are all at home on the streets of the Marvel Universe, at least, as long as they're accompanied by adventure. When fighting crime in the Marvel Universe, fashion comes first.
Ever since his debut in Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's Amazing Fantasy #15, Spider-Man has been one of the most memorable characters in pop culture. This is in no small part due to his web-adorned wardrobe: a busy yet simple combination of red and blue and spider imagery.
Spider-Man's costume is decidedly heroic to a reader, yet it's menacing enough to scare citizens of the Marvel Universe. His covered head allows for anyone to project themselves onto Spidey, but its white eyes convey an expressiveness not found in other super costumes. Spider-Man is the best of humanity – something apparent even in his costume.
